- Yahoo Golf Tournament and Ball Drop to benefit Boys & Girls Club of Craig - Hail falling from the sky pales in comparison to golf balls. On Sept. 18, about 3,000 golf balls will indeed plummet to the ground as part of the 11th annual Yahoo Golf Tournament and Ball Drop at Yampa Valley Golf Course in Craig. The ball drop is a raffle, said Tom Knez, organizer of the yearly event. This year?s event benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Craig.

- Shamrell shoots 67 to win B Flight in Menās Golf Club tourney - Jay CrowellSpecial to the Sun The Kern Valley Men's Golf Club held their monthly meeting and tournament Aug. 11. In the A Flight, Hal Chealander won first with a net 70. Lynn Klase was second with a net 72. There was a tie for third between Lonnie Klug and John Sayre.
- Jaycees Golf Classic tees off Sept. 10 - FLORHAM PARK ? The Florham Park Golf Classic, hosted by the Florham Park Jaycees, will begin with a ?shotgun start? at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at the Farmstead Golf and Country Club at 88 Lawrence Road in Lafayette Township.
